U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement have arrested a Minnesota man at a Carlton County golf course. 42 year old Pedro Aranda is charged with immigration violations. Aranda was born in Mexico. He is here illegally, but is also the owner and operator of Pedro’s Grill and Cantina in downtown Cloquet. He had been held in the Douglas County Jail but has since been listed as released from that facility, and is now detained at another location. A federal immigration judge issued a voluntary departure order to Aranda in 2010, which directed that he depart the U.S. by May 25, 2010. But he stayed, and violated his deportation order. Now, Aranda will remain in ICE custody, pending his removal from the United States.
